Try this quick and easy pasta dish whenever you can get your hands on fresh ramps. Combined with tomatoes, capers, and bacon–this pasta is a winner.

Fill a large bowl with ice and cold water.

Cut a small “x” into the bottom of each tomato.

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.

Add tomatoes to the boiling water.

Cook for 30 seconds until skin starts to peel off.

Remove with a slotted spoon and drain in a colander.

Immediately immerse in the ice water for several minutes to stop the cooking process.

Drain peel and chop.

Combine tomatoes ramps capers and 2 tablespoons olive oil in a blender; blend until smooth.

Season with salt and pepper.

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.

Add penne and cook stirring occasionally until tender yet firm to the bite about 11 minutes.

Cream the butter and cream cheese together.

Beat until fluffy and light after adding sugar and vanilla.

As you gradually add the flour and salt to the creamed mixture, beat it to a smooth consistency.

Add chopped pecans and stir.

Place bowl in the fridge for 15 minutes with plastic wrap covering it.

Form the dough into four 6 inch rolls that are 1 1/2 inches in diameter on four sheets of aluminium foil.

Refrigerate overnight after tightly wrapping each roll in foil.

Set oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees C).

Place foil on cookie sheets.

Dough rolls should be taken out of the refrigerator one at a time.

Slice the dough into 1/4-inch-thick slices and sprinkle red or green sugar crystals on each roll.

To make a tasty treat, the Midwest beef sandwich is quickly and simply seasoned with mustard, horseradish, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce.

In a 1-cup measuring cup, mix ketchup, salt, mustard, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and ground black pepper.

If the combined ingredients don’t make 1 cup of ketchup, add more.

Stir thoroughly to combine.

Put the ground beef in a stockpot and cover it with the ketchup mixture.

Warm water should be put into the same measuring cup.

Pour into stock pot after stirring to loosen any remaining fine seasoning.

Add monosodium glutamate and stir in the onion to the ground beef mixture.

Mix ingredients thoroughly until combined.

Cook and stir the ground beef mixture over low heat for about 15 minutes, or until the ground beef is finely crumbled.

Bring to a boil and simmer for about 25 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

Place prepared pie crust onto a baking sheet.

In a bowl whisk together pumpkin sweetened condensed milk eggs pumpkin pie spice tahini heavy cream vanilla and salt until smooth and combined.

Pour into prepared pie crust.

Place pan into oven and bake for 15 minutes.

Reduce oven temp to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue baking until pie is set but the middle is still slightly jiggly 30 to 35 minutes.

Remove from the oven and allow pie to cool completely at least 4 hours.

If desired garnish with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
