These cookies can either be chewy or crisp. Leave the eggs out of the recipe if you want them to be crisp.

Mix sugars peanut butter and shortening.

Add baking soda to the hot water.

Add to mixture.

Stir well.

Stir in the eggs.

Add the flour.

Roll dough into balls.

Place balls on ungreased cookie sheet.

Press with fork dipped in water to make criss-cross design.

Bake at 350 – 375 degrees F (175 – 190 degrees C) for about 8-10 minutes.

Rich bread pudding is made by combining spiced and roasted peaches with a creamy cinnamon and sugar batter. This dessert is sure to please all of your guests.

Set oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees C).

Add flour and peaches.

In a baking dish, combine 1/4 cup white sugar, rum, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, and 1 pinch nutmeg.

For about 30 minutes, or until the peaches are bubbling and tender, bake in the preheated oven.

Remove and reserve the peaches.

Lower the oven’s heat setting to 350 degrees F.

(175 degrees C).

In a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish, grease it.

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk and heavy cream; cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture is barely warmed and a film forms on top.

Butter should be added after the heat has been turned off.

Mixture should be lukewarm.

In a small bowl, combine the flour, sage, garlic, thyme, salt, allspice, and paprika.

2/3 of the spice mixture should be set aside for later use.

The remaining spice mixture should be sprinkled over the pork chops, covering all sides.

Over medium-high heat, warm up the olive oil in a big skillet.

Add the pork chops and cook for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or until browned.

Take the pork out of the pan.

Cook the onion in the skillet for three minutes or until it is tender.

Cook and stir the apples for an additional two minutes.

Bring to a boil after adding the reserved spice mixture, brown sugar, and apple juice.

Put rhubarb in a saucepan with water.

Over medium heat, simmer while covered.

Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until rhubarb breaks down and releases its juices.

Juice should be strained; press pulp to extract as much liquid as you can.

Throw away the pulp and add sugar to the hot juice.

Rhubarb syrup needs to be chilled for at least two hours before using.

Put ice in a blender with the tequila and rhubarb syrup to make margaritas.

Blend until desired consistency is reached or until completely smooth.

Pour servings into chilled margarita glasses.

I’ve always compared the sidecar to a brandy margarita, but it contains fresh lemon juice instead.

Fill a cocktail shaker 3/4 full with ice cubes.

Pour in lemon juice Cointreau and brandy.

Cover and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes cold and frosty.

Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a wedge of lemon.

Pour into sprayed rice cooker.

Cook in the rice cooker for 3 cycles or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean about 30 minutes.
