An incredibly moist filled layer cake with the flavor of Mexican tres leches cake is given lightness and texture by a white cake mix. Use your preferred buttercream frosting to decorate.

Set oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees C).

Cooking spray two 9-inch round cake pans.

Combine the white cake mix, flour, eggs, and canola oil.

In a big bowl, stir together milk, baking powder, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Fill the prepared cake pans with the batter.

For 40 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean, bake the cakes in a preheated oven.

Before removing cakes to finish cooling on racks, give them about 10 minutes to cool in the pans.

Mix sweetened condensed milk with evaporated milk.

In a bowl, whisk together 6 tablespoons of cream, 1/2 teaspoon each of vanilla and coconut extract.

Put the tres leches mixture in the fridge.
