French Chocolate Mousse with Orange
A traditional chocolate mousse with a hint of orange flavor. This luxurious dairy-free and low-carb mousse is made simply with eggs and chocolate.
Use a mortar and pestle to grind the orange zest into a paste that is smooth.
The top of a double boiler set over simmering water should contain a mixture of chocolate coffee and orange zest.
Until the chocolate is melted, stir frequently, scraping down the sides to prevent scorching, for about 5 minutes.
Stir until smooth, then turn off the heat.
Allow to slightly cool In a glass, metal, or ceramic bowl, beat the egg whites with the salt until stiff peaks form (see Editor’s Note).
The slightly cooled chocolate mixture should now contain egg yolks.
Combine everything thoroughly.
Pour on top of egg whites.
Utilizing a spatula, gently fold the ingredients until just combined.
