Fresh Cranberry Muffins
These moist cranberry nut muffins can be served with the suggested spread in place of rolls at a Thanksgiving table.

Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).

A muffin pan with 12 and 6 cups should be sprayed or greased.

Flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, orange peel, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger should all be combined.

Shortening is cut in; juice, vanilla, eggs, cranberries, and nuts are stirred in.

Fill muffin tins with the mixture, and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden.

Cranberry sauce, brown sugar, and margarine are whisked together to make the topping in a saucepan over low heat.

Cook until smooth and heated.

Remove from heat, then use as a muffin spread.
