Italian Bread Bowls
This bread bowl recipe makes eight delicious bread bowls that are tasty vessels for your favorite soups. Use a few now and freeze the rest for later.
In a big bowl, dissolve the yeast in 2 1/2 cups of warm water.
Allow to stand for 10 minutes or until creamy.
In the interim, lightly grease a sizable bowl.
Dust two baking sheets with cornmeal and lightly grease them.
Place aside.
Salt, oil, and 4 cups flour should be added to the yeast mixture and thoroughly combined using an electric mixer.
1/2 cup at a time, add the remaining flour, beating well after each addition on medium speed.
Once the dough has come together, turn it out onto a lightly dusted surface and knead it for about 6 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
Turn the dough until it is coated in the greased bowl.
Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm location for about 40 minutes, or until it has doubled in volume.
