These wontons filled with cream cheese and imitation crab are a favorite recipe from Hawaii. Serve them with a variety of Asian-style sauces for dipping.

To 375 degrees F, heat the oil in a large, heavy saucepan (190 degrees C).

In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, crabmeat, water chestnuts, green onions, and soy sauce.

Each wonton wrapper should have a small amount of the cream cheese mixture in the centre.

With moistened fingers, seal the edges of the triangle-shaped wrappers.

Working in small batches, fry the wontons for 3 to 4 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Utilize a slotted spoon to remove, then drain on paper towels.
