Chile peppers, corn, and spices bring Mexican flavor to this tasty chicken and gnocchi chowder that makes a perfect meal on a chilly night.

In a big skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.

Add an onion Chili powder, garlic, and ancho pepper Red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper thyme, oregano, cumin, and paprika.

Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cook and stir the flour mixture in the skillet until it resembles paste and turns light golden brown, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the half-and-half and chicken broth gradually before bringing to a simmer.

Add the dried chile peppers, chicken, corn, tomato, and carrots.

Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until thoroughly heated.

Add the gnocchi and cook for about two minutes, or until it floats to the top.
