Spiced Plum Upside-Down Cake with Oats
This spiced plum cake is a makeover of the classic pineapple upside-down cake, with the addition of oats.
Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, mix the water and the oats.
Give it 20 minutes to sit.
Add brown sugar.
Large bowl with 1/2 cup butter, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Mix the oatmeal mixture before adding it.
flour, baking soda, and sift 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and allspice.
Include in the oats mixture.
In a 9-inch square baking pan, add 2 tablespoons of butter and melt it in the preheated oven.
After removing from the oven, top with sugar and cinnamon.
Spread the plums over the sugar evenly.
Over the plums, evenly spread the batter.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
