Tortiera di Alici (Italian Baked Anchovies)
In this baked Italian dish called Tortiera de Alici, fresh anchovies alternate with a mixture of bread crumbs, capers, garlic, and parsley.
Each anchovy’s bottom should be cut open, and the bone should be removed.
Place each fillet in the bottom of a shallow dish after opening it like a book.
On top, drizzle white vinegar.
Refrigerate for two hours while marinating.
Vinegar should be drained and discarded.
Set oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees C).
Olive oil should be lightly brushed on a baking pan.
In a bowl, combine the bread crumbs, capers, parsley, and garlic.
