Martha Washington Candies
Here is a candy that can be given as gifts during the holidays or just gobbled up whenever you have a hankering for it. They are a hand-dipped pecan candy in a fondant-like base.
2 cookie sheets should be lined with wax paper.
Place aside.
In a sizable mixing bowl, combine margarine sugar and sweetened condensed milk.
Using a sturdy large spoon, combine the coconut, pecans, and vanilla.
until it is firm enough to handle, chill.
Form into tiny balls and set on cookie sheets that have been prepared.
Until very firm, chill.
In the top pot of a double boiler set over simmering water, melt chocolate chips.
Dip balls into melted chocolate using a toothpick.
Let wax paper cool.
