Mom’s Christmas Sugar Cut-Out Cookies
This mom’s sugar cut-out Christmas cookies are delicious and make a festive baking project for kids. They are decorated with colored frosting.

Set the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees C).

Use parchment paper to line two baking pans.

Confectioners’ sugar, butter, egg, vanilla, and almond extract should all be thoroughly combined and the butter should not be clumpy.

Add the baking soda, cream of tartar, and flour all at once.

Use your hands to mash and knead the dough until it is fully formed when mixing the dough becomes more difficult.

Transfer the dough to a sizable work surface dusted with flour.

Roll the dough out very carefully to a thickness of 1 cm or slightly more; the thicker the dough, the softer the cookie.

(In the oven, these cookies will puff up.) When necessary, sprinkle flour on your work surface, the dough, and the rolling pin.
