Autumn Spiced Butternut Squash Bread
Who needs pumpkin? Butternut squash puree makes an equally delicious quick bread.
Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
Grease two loaf pans measuring 9×5.
In a bowl, combine the sugar and shortening and beat until fluffy.
Add water and butternut squash eggs to the sugar mixture.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cloves; stir into the sugar mixture.
Stir until batter is just combined before adding nuts and raisins.
Fill the prepared loaf pans with the batter.
Cook in the preheated oven for about an hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
15 minutes of cooling in the pans are followed by removal to finish cooling on a wire rack.
