Pinto beans should be soaked for at least 8 hours and up to 24 hours in a large bowl with several inches of water covering them.

Earlier than using, drain and rinse.

Put soaked pinto beans, onion, garlic, and jalapeno peppers in a slow cooker and cover with several inches of water.

Cook for 4 to 6 hours on Medium-Low.

Put some salt and black pepper on it.

Lightly grease a baking sheet or line with foil.

Cut dough into twelve 1-inch strips.

Wrap each strip tightly around a bratwurst in a spiral pinching edges to seal and leaving about 1/2 inch of bratwurst peeking out of each end.

Add 3 wrapped bratwurst at a time to the boiling water.

Boil for about 30 seconds.

Transfer bratwurst to the prepared baking sheet.

Sprinkle with salt.

Repeat with remaining wrapped bratwurst.
